- A: Polytarps are made from woven strands of material which makes finding the mil thickness difficult because it will be different depending on where you place the caliper. We list our tarps by the weave and the higher number of weave per square inch, the heavier duty the tarp. The Brown Lightweight Poly tarp is an 8 X 8 weave.6 years agoHelpful?

These tarps are paper thin and are more than likely not going to last more than one use. Look for something thicker than 4 mil if you want a quality reusable tarp. This is not that.

I actually purchased this by mistake. I thought I was ordering a regular tarp. I am glad I did! Keeps my car nice and clean and dry when I'm lugging things around.
