Really good canvas tarp!!

Super nice tarp. Weather proofing is excellent. Worth every penny. Supple.
Not suitable for a bedroll. Weather proofing so good that it would be impossible to wrap up in due to odor and heave waxy coating.

Not Waterproof, Not Water-resistant

This is a heavy and durable canvas tarp, well constructed and with sturdy grommets. But it is NOT water resistant and NOT waterproof. Even after applying 32-oz can of ScotchGuard it still leaked through the weave. If your goal is to shed water, you are better off with two layers of (folded) poly tarp. Other than that is was a decent buy at the price but not a great buy. Why would the vendor sell a protective product like this and neglect to make it water resistant?

Incredibly tough material.

I never seen such a thick tough tarp before. Well constructed. Smells funny, but I'm sure that will pass after it rains. I'm sure this will last a lifetime.

Stinky but very good quality

Definitely a tarp for outdoor use at least until it airs out. I bought it for a bedroll for my new wool blanket im figuring it will take at least a month before I can use it. But I purchased the tarp knowing this. May buy another soon.

Smeels and oily

I have bought the canvas tarps from tractor supply before and this one is not what i expected. It smells and has an oily chemical residue all over it, i assume for the water proofing. The weight of the fabric seems to be lignter compaired to an old one i still have and use that has served me verry well. I do not see this new one being of the same quality or durability as the old one. Something changed in the design which i believe was a mistake. Will pay more attention in the future when i buy one, i did not look but most likely mand in china. Do not lay the tarp om anything that you dont want to get this chemical residue on.
