VP Racing Ultra J20A Plus Utility Tractor Fluid is formulated from highly refined base stocks and robust additive technology for use in a variety of farm tractors, off-highway construction, logging and industrial equipment, including, skidders, feller bunchers, log splitters, harvesters and loaders. You may be wondering, what is tractor utility fluid? Tractor fluid is engineered for lubrication of final drives, power take-off (PTO) units, wet brakes, power steering units and hydraulic systems. Its viscosity is comparable to a SAE 20 crankcase fluid or an ISO 68 industrial oil for general purpose applications.

A seal in the lower part of my Hesston 566 (mfg. 1985) required draining out all hydraulic fluid. I replaced it with J20A fluid from Tractor Supply...(20 gallons). The brakes immediately started to chatter and vibrate severely. The container shows this fluid meets AF-87 requirements for this tractor. How should I proceed now....obviously a fluid problem.

Be Aware, Water Contaminated

I purchased this oil like I have in the past to replace the hydraulic oil in my old Ford Tractor. I've found I need to replace the oil every few years due to water condensation/contamination. Imagine my shock when after leaving a brand new bucket of oil in an unheated lean to a few days, that the entire bottom 1" was frozen. I unsealed the bucket, poured it in, and heard a Clunk as I got to the bottom of the bucket. This ice cookie fell out! I promise the J20A oil spec doesn't allow for that much water! I purchased a bucket of a different brand (I needed more) and let it freeze as well, but this time there was no ice, only oil. Again, this was from a new, sealed bucket, not half a bucket left open. I will never purchase VP Racing fluids again.
No, I do not recommend this product.
