Thyro-Tabs are oral prescription tablets used to provide hormone replacement therapy for dogs with hypothyroidism, helping to restore normal thyroid hormone levels. Maintaining a balanced thyroid hormone level is essential for supporting your pet's mental health and physical activity. This hypothyroidism medication for dogs is available in a variety of different strengths and includes 120 tablets per bottle. Prescription required. How it Works

This product contains a synthetic form of tetraiodothyronine sodium salt, often referred to as T4. This synthetic replica is identical to that produced by a dog's thyroid gland, making it the ideal solution for replacement therapy in dogs with hypothyroidism.

Special Precautions

  • For dogs with hypothyroidism and cardiac disease, close monitoring should be ensured while a proper dose is being established. Your veterinarian may find it necessary to adjust the dog's levothyroxine sodium or cardiac medication dosage, based upon the individual clinical response of the dog.
  • Wash hands thoroughly after use.
  • If accidentally ingested, seek treatment at once. Be sure to have the product label handy for physician reference.
  • Keep away from children.
  • Not proven safe for use in lactating, pregnant, or breeding dogs.
  • Following excess thyroid hormone exposure in utero, the offspring of rodents and humans have shown defects in the morphological thyroid gland and hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid axis dysfunction.
  • Do not administer to dogs with uncontrolled adrenal insufficiency or thyrotoxicosis.
Overdose Information

In the event of an accidental overdose, seek treatment at a nearby emergency veterinary hospital.
