Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lifesaver I began using Vetericyn hydrogel when my paralyzed dog developed a wound on his hip. Veterinarians did not hold out much hope that it would heal but one suggested that I apply Vetericyn. Vetericyn saved my dog's life. The wound healed and my boy went on to live an additional two years. Thank you!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Wonders! Love this stuff! My horse recently sliced her leg while out in the field and the cut got infected. A few days with this stuff on it got rid of the infection!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great wound gel! I've used Vetericyn's wound spray for many years. They provided me with the hydrogel in exchange for an honest review. I love the hydrogel just as much as the spray! It works well because it stays in place and brings moisture to the wound which can aid in the healing process. It's great because it's non-toxic and can be licked!

Will this treat Rain Rot in horses?

Asked by: Alicia Fertig
Hi Alicia. Rain rot is often treated by systemic antibiotics and topical therapy. Vetericyn Plus can certainly be used for the topical therapy. Crusty lesions should be soaked and the crusts removed if possible. I recommend using the liquid formula. Application once or twice a day and good husbandry will help the issue heal quicker. Cat had surgery to remove a small growth. Area is gaping in some places and has hard scabs over it. Would this product be worth trying to help heal it up faster?

Asked by: Citykab
Hi Citykab. Vetericyn Plus Antimicrobial Hydrogel is a great way to protect, moisturize, and provide soothing relief to post-surgical sites on your pet. Our antimicrobial hydrogel adheres to the affected area to cool and protect while helping to keep the wound clean and free from potential infection. For best results we recommend first cleaning the area with Vetericyn Plus Antimicrobial Wound Care liquid and then protecting it with the hydrogel. Contact us at customerservice@innovacyn.com if you have any more questions.

Will the hydrogel freeze & cause frostbite to worsen? I am treating a rooster's frostbitten comb. Would like to coat in hydrogel after cleansing, but am concerned that the hydrogel will worsen the freezing. Hoping to switch from an ointment.

Asked by: DappledGrove
Great Question! Our hydrogel formula will not worsen frostbite--so long as it is not applied to the affected area and they exposed to sub-freezing temperatures again. Hydrogel, by definition, is water based so it will freeze if applied in temperatures below 32 degrees. For an optimal wound healing environment, we recommend keeping the affected area as close to room temperature when at all possible.

Will this treat a horses mane from itching, or should I use a medicated shampoo?

Asked by: BABY BEE
Hi BABY BEE. I'd recommend using Vetericyn's FoamCare Medicated equine shampoo. It will help treat ringworm, girth itch, scratches, dry, itchy skin, and other fungal disorders. It will also clean, soothe, and heal your horse’s skin while delivering nutrients that help enhance your horse’s natural immune system against future dermatological disorders. Please note results depend on the cause of the itching. If you have any more questions, please contact us at customerservice@innovacyn.com. Thank you! Would this product be good for a chicken suffering from neck wounds due to a fairly serious hawk attack? The wound is scabbing, but also splitting.

Asked by: Liz2005
Hi Liz2005. We're sorry to hear about your chicken's injury. Vetericyn Plus Antimicrobial Hydrogel is a great way to help the healing of injuries like you describe. Because it adheres to the wound site, it moisturizes, protects, and helps prevent infection, while upstarting the healing process. We'd also recommend our Vetericyn Plus Poultry Care liquid to clean and flush the wound before applying the hydrogel. If you have any more questions, please email customerservice@innovacyn.com.
