Q: Would this work for taking spray paint off of plastics?
8 months ago1 Answer
- A: Hi Neighbor! No, this is not suitable for removing paint from plastic because it can cause significant damage and warping to the plastic surface. Crushed glass is designed for removing heavy rust and paint from harder surfaces like metal, wood, concrete, and brick, not soft substrates like plastic.8 months agoHelpful?
Q: What size nozzle is recommended?
2 years ago1 Answer
- A: For vapour abrasive blasting, the most commonly-used nozzle orifice sizes range from 3/8" inner diameter to 3/4", increasing by increments of 1/16". A 3/8" nozzle is sufficiently constricted to produce an effective blast pressure with a 185 CFM compressor.2 years agoHelpful?
Q: Whats the best media for stripping heavy rusty parts?
4 years ago1 Answer
- A: If you are blasting aluminum, plastic media, walnut shell, or glass beads are the best choices. These have a lower Mohs hardness, so the metal surface isn't devastated. For steel or iron, glass beads or aluminum oxide is a good choice, especially if you want to take it down to bare metal.4 years agoHelpful?
Q: Is this good for removing rust from car frames etc
5 years ago1 Answer
- A: We wouldn't recommend it for car frames.5 years agoHelpful?
Q: What color is the media. I work with wood the dark media changes the color of the wood.
5 years ago2 Answers
- A: It is slightly whitish. I have never used it on wood so I can’t give a definitive answer. This stuff is glass shards, so it might adhere to the fibers of the wood and give a weird sheen to the wood. But that is a guess only. I hear soda blasting is the way to go on wood. Good luck!5 years agoHelpful?
Q: Is this media favorable for stripping boat bottom. I assumed my boat bottom gel coat is no longer existed due to its age and layers and layers of paint.
6 years ago1 Answer
- A: The glass product should work in this application. We suggest starting off with a lower blasting pressure to make sure it does not tear into the fiberglass hull of the boat. If it is not doing much with the layers of paint, then increase the pressure until you see that it is taking off the paint.6 years agoHelpful?
Q: What does single use mean . Is it for use in a blast cabinet. It will be use over and over Thank You Terry
6 years ago1 Answer
- A: Unfortunately Glass cannot be used more than one time, as it breaks down too much for a re-use.6 years agoHelpful?
Q: Are there different colors of glass beads. We need a clear or white glass bead. The color we have now is almost total dust. We can`t use it and returned it .And can it be ordered by you and sent to a store location? Thank you

- A: No we do carry different color glass beads.6 years agoHelpful?

I guess I'll have to buy this somewhere else
a month ago
I ordered this online 3 times to be delivered to my closest store. Each time my order was canceled. I used to buy it here for years. Luckily I I found 1 at another store but it was the last one they had. My store say they can't order it for me. Doesn't make sense I can find it online, but can't buy it, and the store I used to buy it from can't order it.

Ordered a pail of glass beads for sand blasting and having it hang up by ups in Chicago. Elizabeth got everything straightened out. I received my purchase 3 days later. Very happy with the help I received from Elizabeth. She is the best.
