Q: what diameter rope would the pulley handle? How wide is the pulley itself (the groove for the rope or cable)?

1 Answer
  • A: The 20,000lb snatch block can be compatible with maximum 13mm.D (1/2in.Diameter) steel cable or synthetic rope. The width of the groove itself is not typically listed as a separate specification, since the important measurement for compatibility is the maximum cable diameter. The entire snatch block assembly has an overall width of 2 inches, which can sometimes be confused with the pulley's groove width

Q: What do we have to do to get snatch blocks that work with cable/rope over 1/2 inch?  Looking to replace an ancient snatch block that will work with 3/4 in rope.  Going oversize increases safety margin, prolongs rope life.  Need larger capability.

Traveller 20k snatch block

I've used the Traveller 20k snatch block on everything from vehicle recovery to logging and it's never failed me, built like a tank and always butter smooth due to having a grease fitting (unlike most other blocks in this price range) i would recommend this product.
