Rated 1 out of 5 by from NOT A 12V STARTER The description states its comparable with 6 or 12v. Purchased it and put it on the TO 20 and nothing. Took it to the local electric motor shop who tested it and it is only a 6v winding. So it's only comparable with a 12v if you have resistor.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok if ur handy I bought this a few days ago and went to install it today only to find out they did not fit correctly had to swap nose cones from the old starter to get it to go in because the unit was slightly longer than the old one also had to remove the distributor to get this and if you're not handy this May give you a hard time

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost identical A tiny bit longer than original. Had to pull the distributor to install but all in all a quick and easy job. Works well.

Will this work on my 1949 Wisconsin ft motor. It has a starter on it that looks like it now.

Asked by: ron 23
We are unable to say for sure if this starter would fit your 1949 Wisconsin Ft Motor or not. We would need to know the starter number and starter brand that is currently on that application before we could determine.
