Rated 5 out of 5 by from Our dogs love this Our doggos loved this food. We only changed to the Taste of the Wild with Ancient Grains because our vet did not want us feeding them grain free food.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Kibble is excellent but the bag? My Border Collie thrives on this food but I would give it 5 stars if the bag had a zip lock top. I cut the top off the bag, but in order to keep it fresh and my dog from eating out of the bag which is in the cupboard, I have to use clothes pins to seal/close the top of the bag properly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Has Kept My Gal @ Her Best Always & She Loves It! I have been feeding my gal Tara TOTW since day one. Sheltie's have kidney, joint and skin issues. This has kept her healthy. She has climbed many mountains in her day. At 11 she still has plenty of energy, can't wait to eat her TOTW every day, walks, and plays - she has no gray hair and most people that meet her for the first time think she is a puppy.

What are the glucosamine levels?

Asked by: Aubrey23
Hi, Aubrey. While some of our formulas may include naturally occurring glucosamine, the levels are not measured. We do not add glucosamine to any of our Taste of the Wild formulas.

I just recently put my two girls on TOTW, I started them on the High Prarie but at some point in the future would like to try the different flavors. Will it be necessary to gradually introduce the new flavors to prevent tummy issues?

Asked by: ajzjmsmom
Hello and thank you for reaching out! Many pets enjoy eating more than one Taste of the Wild recipe, however, to avoid digestive upset, we do recommend limiting your rotation to two recipes and gradually mixing foods over a couple of weeks. When you transition between recipes, slowly reduce the amount of the old recipe and increase the amount of the new recipe. If you have any questions or would like to request a sample, please contact us by visiting our website https://www.tasteofthewildpetfood.com/contact-us/. Thank you for choosing Taste of the Wild!

My dog has bone cancer and I was told to feed him a low carb foods what percentage of carbs are in your brand?

Asked by: Mickiblueeyes
Hello! We’re very sorry to hear about your dog’s diagnosis of bone cancer. In general, the higher the fat and protein content of a recipe, the lower the percentage of carbohydrates. Of our TOTW Grain-Free line, High Prairie Canine and Appalachian Valley contain the lowest amount of carbohydrates of our recipes at 26.5% as-fed. Should you need additional carbohydrate percentages for specific recipes, please contact us by submitting an inquiry at https://www.tasteofthewildpetfood.com/contact-us/. Additionally, we recommend consulting your veterinarian regarding the best diet for your dog based on his needs.

Are any ingredients GMO! Do you test for hormone and antibiotics in your ingredients? Thanks!

Asked by: Ultraflyer
Hello and thanks for reaching out! TOTW is committed to using as many GMO-free ingredients as possible in our recipes. However, there are ingredients that are critical to include in our TOTW recipes that are not available GMO-free in an adequate supply. If you’re interested in feeding GMO free formula, we recommend our PREY formulas. For more information, please visit www.TasteOfTheWildPREY.com. Additionally, all of our meats are purchased from food grade suppliers and are certified hormone and antibiotic free. Do any of the ingredients come from or are processed out of the United States? Has this food EVER had a recall?

Asked by: GMApup
Hello, thanks for your questions. Most of the ingredients in Taste of the Wild originate in the United States. There are critical ingredients, however, that are not available domestically in an adequate supply or with as much quality as our international supply. Out of an abundance of caution, Taste of the Wild had a voluntary recall in 2012 due to potential product contamination. Further product testing revealed that no Taste of the Wild product was contaminated. We are committed to product safety and quality, which is why we adhere to the most stringent and scientifically advanced food safety protocols. We test and monitor every aspect of the manufacturing process: pre-production, production and post-production. To learn more, please visit our website at https://www.tasteofthewildpetfood.com/#quality-assurance If you have additional questions, please fee free to contact a product specialist by calling us at at 1-800-342-4808 or email us by visiting https://www.tasteofthewild.com/#contact-us.

Is this for Puppys

Asked by: Chad1
This formula is for adult use to help maintain the health, it does not promote growth.

Why is the biggest bag size only 30lbs? I have multiple large dogs. It would be much more convenient to purchase in 50lb increments. I would still buy at least 2 bags at a time.

Asked by: Anonymous
Hello and thanks for reaching out! At the time of the launch, we determined our bag sizes based on industry trends as well as shelf space and handling ability. If you have any further questions, please contact our product specialists at 1-800-342-4808 (8 a.m. - 5 p.m. CT weekdays) or https://www.tasteofthewildpetfood.com/#contact-us. Thanks again!

I am alarmed at the FDA warning this week about potatoes and legumes causing Dialated Cardiovascular Myopathy. What is the companies take on this?

Asked by: Anonymous
Hello and thank you for sharing your concern with us. The FDA is investigating a previously unknown but potential link between a condition called DCM, or dilated cardiomyopathy, and dog foods containing peas, lentils, other legumes or potatoes as main ingredients (primarily grain-free). Because taurine deficiency can be associated with DCM, a possible link between diet and the diagnosis is being explored. Taurine has not been recognized as an essential ingredient in dog food. All formulas produced by Taste of the Wild are supplemented with taurine. Taste of the Wild's priority is to provide all pets with quality, safe food that meets all federal and state regulatory guidelines.
