Sucralfate Tablets are used to treat gastric ulcers and right dorsal colon ulcers in horses and foals, promoting healing and reducing ulcer-related symptoms. It also helps soothe horses, alleviating abdominal pain and discomfort caused by the ulcer. In some cases, veterinarians may prescribe Sucralfate in addition to other medications. Available in 1g strength tablets.How it Works

Sucralfate primarily works in the stomach lining, adhering to the site of ulcers and offering protection from bile salt, enzymes, and acids.

Special Precautions

  • Sucralfate can decrease gastric emptying rates, slowing the transit time of the gastrointestinal system.
  • Speak with your veterinarian before administering this medication with any other supplement or drug.
  • Keep out of reach of animals and children.

Immediately contact your closest emergency animal hospital or vet.

Side Effects

Adverse reactions are uncommon with Sucralfate use. Hypophosphatemia or constipation has been reported in a low number of horses.
