Pictures and settings are difficult to figure out for the power source, but does detour people from the area.

They work great, I am usually 12 to 60 miles away from them at most times. We use them to monitor vacant property we own. The AA batteries have to be changed once a week, but working on setting up a solar panel and external battery setup.

This is my first experience with trail cameras of any kind whatsoever, so I don’t have much to gauge it by. The cameras seem good in construction and work well. I especially liked that there’s a way to view pictures right on your phone without having to go to retrieve SD cards and put them back which is what I knew of cameras I have borrowed from others before. Speaking of SD cards, that brings up another point. Personally, I feel like I need a place like this should come with at least a cheap small SD card to get you started, just so you have everything you need right out of the box, should you need to use this thing ASAP. Then, you can always upgrade to a better SD card later on your own. This comes with no SD card so you have to make sure you have some of those around. It says so on the packaging, so I knew this at the time of purchase. I Actually did have SD cards at home, so I thought I was good to go. I was wrong because I have the traditional SD cards, but not the micro SD cards that these cameras require. Fortunately, you can get these literally anywhere locally or online. The photos are stored on the cameras SD card, but you are notified through an app on your phone that new photos are available. I like this. As long as you have cell service signal at the cameras location, the system works. You are allowed 100 photos a month before you have to subscribe to a plan offered by the manufacturer. 100 photos sounds like a lot, but depending on the sensitivity of the camera and what’s going on around it, that really is not, as you would be getting a photograph for every change of the wind or whatever. You can adjust sensitivity to minimize this, but at the risk of missing what it is you’re looking for. In my case, it was raccoons getting into some of my stuff so I was actually using it for more of a security camera than for hunting or whatever. It did the job well. But I also got 30 photographs that first evening of what appeared to be nothing (sometimes the action happens and is over before the shutter snaps the photograph). I will continue to play with and adjust settings in the future for other tasks. Overall I think it’s a pretty cool system. I may subscribe to the plan in the future, but I’m not certain yet. This was on sale at the time of purchase but I realized after seeing my tractor supply credit card statement that something wasn’t right only to find out that I was charged full price and I had to go back and get that adjusted at the store. Partly my fault for not examining the receipt more closely, but really didn’t expect that I had to either. Besides that, everything was great.
