Can't get it to start on NG? Open the choke!

Bought this for emergency use as I wanted to be prepared to be able to use whatever fuel I had, and usually when our power goes out the natural gas supply stays on. However, like some other reviewers I couldn't get it to turn over on NG no matter how carefully I followed the manual. Turns out for NG you have to do the OPPOSITE of the manual and set the choke to the OPEN/RUN position, NOT the CLOSED/START position like you would for running on gasoline. Once I figured that out it started on 1 pull and ran great. It's not quiet, and it somehow had a slight dent in the frame despite the box being completely undamaged, but for the price it makes a good addition to your emergency preparedness.

Great generator.

This generator helped a ton while electricity was off 4 for days with an ice storm. I jist wish the gas tank was bigger. Sw the price dropped in less than 30 days of buying so I tried to see if they did the price match to save an extra 50 on it but either way it has done it's job and already payed for itself by not paying for a hotel for 4 nights.

Tri-Fuel at Gasoline prices.

I've been wanting a generator that can run on Natural Gas, so when i saw the price i placed my order. Note this is NOT an inverter generator, just a straight alternator like everyone used for generations. The size is ideal for homes with gas powered major appliances, so all you need is powering the lights, refrigerator, furnace fan, and TV. Don't believe all the hype about inverter generators and sensitive electronics. You can always wait for the power to come back on before powering up the home theater, or use a portable power box between the outlet and your electronics. Natural Gas runs about 50 cents an hour, much cheaper than propane or gasoline. It fires right up on natural gas, just use choke like it has gasoline. Produces 3,000 watts continuous on Natural Gas. This is 120 volt, will power small window AC in summer, gas or propane furnace fan in winter.
