It’s a plus that the rubber tip comes off so I can dispose of it properly when I beat him with it (jk!!) it’s a very well made and weighted sledge style hammer that’s easy to handle and can be used with or without the rubber tip! It’s heavy duty and gets the job done!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Spec Ops Tools Blacksmith sledghammer was pretty nice for a multi-tool. It works well as a sledge hammer, however, I wouldn’t say it would be my top choice for a blacksmith's hammer. If you are someone who doesn’t like to carry a lot of tools but needs a sledgehammer, this is a good pick. My favorite part of this product was the handle. The rubber felt very easy to grip and felt like it wouldn’t fly out of your hand. The material felt great and tough, and looked really nice. It definitely absorbed some of the shock when hitting things. The steel felt a little soft and cheap, but for this type of hammer and the price point, I would necessarily call that a con. The surface does seem to scratch easily and isn’t the strongest, but it gets the job done well, and didn’t break on me. The multi-tool part of this product did appeal to me with the double-sided head, but the rubber cap didn’t interest me as much. This cap felt unnecessary and like something I wouldn’t use much. It did seem to help with noise reduction and adding less power to my swings when needed, but I would personally much rather use a mallet. The cap also seemed to pop off if hitting something with a lot of force, or at a lateral angle. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this to someone who has every tool for every task, but I would recommend this to the average person who has a small tool bag.
