The two crossed ceramic rods also have pre-set angles and provide a smooth finished edge to already sharp knives. It is lightweight, portable, comes with a lanyard hole, and has non-slip rubber feet for added safety. Smith's 2-step knife sharpener is excellent for use on all types of knives, especially filet knives.Three Year Limited Use Warranty.

Q&As

1 - 3 of 3 Questions

Q: Will this sharpen wood carving knife?

1 Answer
  • A: Hello, thank you for your question. The Smith’s 2-Step Knife Sharpener (#CCKS) can be used to sharpen a wood carving knife. It works on straight-edged knives using a carbide coarse stage and ceramic fine stage. However, it is a basic pull-through sharpener and may not produce as precise a carving edge as sharpening stones or a strop.

1 Answer
  • A: Hi, Yes, Smith's 2-Step Knife Sharpener can be used on serrated knives, but it's important to use the appropriate sharpening methods for serrated edges. The sharpener's design includes both a coarse and fine sharpening slot for straight-edged knives, as well as a fixed-angle sharpening slot specifically for serrated blades. Avoid This

This was ordered in anticipation of camping. It is small and would be handy to pack. However, tests on two knives were failures. Neither the tested folding knife nor paring knife were improved. My opinion is that the angle of the sharpening elements doesn't truly support a "knife edge" sharpness as they angle is too shallow. I'm not actually sure the knives weren't less sharp after treatment.
