Great throwers but with a MAJOR flaw!

We purchased two sets of these at Christmas for our 11 year old son who expressed an interest in learning to throw knives. Built up a nice target stand with 2x4's and away he went. He started throwing around early January and was sticking them every time within a week or two. We LOVED these knives...at first.
After only owning them for about 6 weeks three of them snapped in half, all at the exact same spot, and all within a day of one another. We REALLY want to buy more, as he is used to them and throws them well, but are very concerned that we are simply throwing money away and they will break again after a short period of time.
Not sure if we simply had a bad batch but we are definitely disappointed in the quality.
