Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rust-Oleum works! I’ve used Rust-Oleum for many years on various projects involving steel. It works! If you paint it on with a brush, lay it a little heavy and it almost looks sprayed on. Used it on the inside of a BX2370 deck.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Went on very easy and looks great Would have gotten 5 stars but the store had only one can and it was dented. I only needed a little for my project so when I went to reseal container, it didn’t seal back correctly. Disappointed

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great coverage & color I used the Kubota orange as a substitute for "Chevy orange" & it looks great! Brushed it on the engine without using any primer & it covered great. So far I'm very happy, I hope it holds up for a long time.

Is primer required for this product or can I paint directly on prepared metal surface?

Asked by: Anonymous
We like how you think! While a primer isn't absolutely necessary with Rust-Oleum Specialty Farm & Implement Paint, you'd be surprised how much of a difference it makes in most projects. Primers make colors pop, help topcoats go on more efficiently and prepare surfaces like bare wood, metal, and rust before painting. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 5

how to reduce and if any hardener and spec how to mix?

Asked by: cochito
Happy to help! Thinning is not normally required when using a brush or roller to apply Rust-Oleum Specialty Farm and Implement Enamel Paint. If using an air-atomized sprayer, we recommended using acetone if thinning is desired, up to 15% by volume can be used. With an airless sprayer, thinning is not normally required but acetone can be used up to 5% by volume. We do not recommend adding any hardener to this coating since it can affect the product's performance.
