The Royal Wing Safflower Wild Bird Food offers a great taste and plentiful nutrients. Finches and cardinals love safflower seeds and are drawn to the thick shell and quality protein, fat and fiber content. As an added bonus, safflower seeds have a bitter taste that squirrels don't like, ensuring your feeder remains undisturbed. The wild bird food comes in a 7 lb. package and works great in hopper, tube and platform feeders. Satisfaction guaranteed.

Received 20lb bag as a gift. It's perfect. All seeds intact. Not sure why the negative reviews. This is high quality Safflower. I've been birding for 20 yrs. I know seed.

Bad Batch?

Bag was a mixture of safflower, corn & sunflower seeds. Took back to store and it was explained that it may have been the "end of another run". Got my money back and was given a 10# bag where I could see the contents. Was very pleased with the customer service. Safflower seed is the way to go if you want to eliminate squirrels at your feeder. You will attract cardinals, chickadees, sparrows, finches, bluebirds, and we even have a woodpecker that likes it! The next time, I will cut open the bag prior to purchase because it is a better bargain that the "big box store" in our area. Because the customer service was superior, I will give the seed another try.

This stuff is very expensive, but well worth it and it seems to only appeal to birds. Not squirrels. At first, the squirrels acted as though they were very enamored of it, but quickly backed off. It has probably saved me money in the long run.
