The Deer don't love it, but they'll eat it

I started my backyard deer on the Big Tine deer feed and they loved it so much that I was going through 40 pounds in a week, so I bought the Purina Antler Advantage hoping it would last longer. The good news is that it does last longer, but the bad news is that the reason its lasting so long is that the deer don't particularly care for it. My new course of action is to mix the Big Tine (smells like cherries!) with the Antler Advantage and throw in a couple of cups of deer corn, and they love it. Also, its important to note that the Antler Advantage bag indicates this feed is "water resistant" but when it rains the feed turns to mush.

I've been feeding SMALL amounts of corn to the deer who visit my yurt in the woods for a while now, always being careful to keep the fawns away from it until they grew and could eventually develop the gut biome to metabolize it. This year there are just too many fawns, so I looked for a food that I could just put out and walk away from with no worries. Purina is usually a good brand, and I liked the ingredients, so I chose this feed. The deer definitely didn't like it as much as the corn at first, but they like it now. I saw one licking the plastic tray after it had eaten it all. :) So they're happy, and I'm happy to have them around with no worries. Win/win!

The problem with this product is that the shipping for 20 bags is more than the 20 bags alone. This should be carried in the store. Most hunters are feeding protein these days.
