Protecting Posts from ground rot

I ordered a post protector to be able to physically see one, since no store I've found actually has any in stock. It was pretty much what I expected it to be, except I thought it would be thicker, similar to bedliner thickness, but it is nowhere near that thick. I'm going to use them on my next project anyway, because I believe they will add a layer of rot protection.
