Q: What is the difference between single and double acting couplers ?

  • A: The double acting sleeve is able to disconnect the Pioneer tip from coupler by either pulling or pushing on the sleeve, whereas the single acting sleeve is only able to disconnect when you pull. The intention of the double acting sleeve is to create a "breakaway" feature that will safely disconnect hydraulic lines of the equipment if it was forgotten to be mounted on a tractor hitch and the operator began to drive away. This feature is able to work when the coupler sleeve is clamped to the tractor with a breakaway clamp.
