PetSafe Rechargeable No-Bark Dog Training Collar

Just got it. The instructions are super vague and don’t explain how to set the levels. The instructions also don’t explain how to use the static electricity light tester. I’ve tried to work it out and even watched their videos on youtube, but the youtube video only tells you how to reset the level, not set it, and the light test video uses a different tool to the one that came with my collar, so is useless to me as well. I’m unimpressed.

We had a PetSafe nano collar for our small and loud dog, then adopted her brother who was also loud, so we needed the same collar as they’re very close to the same size. I had to order it as it wasn’t in stock in stores, but shipping only took a few days. The collar changed a bit over the past few years and the material is nylon rather than the rubbery and more solid style as the older one and the new one did not come with 2 pairs of prongs (long and short), only the longer ones. The dogs are shorthairs so the shorter electrodes would have been preferred. I feel they are too long and probably less than uncomfortable, but the dog is fine with this. As for effectiveness, they work just fine as long as they’re adjusted properly, need to be tighter than any other collars so the electrodes make contact. The dogs will still get excited at certain things but the collars quickly quiet them down after a few barks and auto adjustments. It WILL allow them to bark until the level adjusts and deters them. That said, once they know the collar does what it does, they tend to just be quiet and better just by putting it on them and they know it’s there. Even just holding it up and showing them settles them down a tad. I recommend for sure.

I just bought the bark collar with the 6 levels of correction. It seems to be working on my smaller dog, the only problem is, I went out looking for another collar in hopes of it coming with another charger. This one has batteries, which is fine but I have the older version (6ish years old) and I can’t find a replacement charger for it. I paid a lot of money for the collar and the collar still works great but I can’t use it without a charger. All the new ones seem to have a different port. Where the new ones look to have 2 prong ports and a single track for the charger to slide into. Mine has the 2 prong and 2 tracks. Could someone please tell me if their new collar also looks like this so I know if their new chargers will work?
