Osurnia Otic Gel is an easy to use, fast-acting treatment for infected or inflamed ears. It comes in convenient single-dose tubes and only requires two treatments per ear (spaced a week apart). The solution, which contains a steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, an antifungal and an antibacterial, effectively treats canine otitis externa caused by many bacterial strains, including yeast (Malassezia Pachydermatis) and Staphylococcus Pseudintermedius.. Osurnia is fast-acting and FDA approved. How it Works
Osurnia combines three potent active ingredients - betamethasone acetate, a steroidal anti-inflammatory; terbinafine, an antifungal; and florfenicol, an antibacterial. Betamethasone acetate is a glucocorticosteroid. Terbinafine works by selectively inhibiting early ergosterol synthesis. Florfenicol inhibits synthesis of protein, affecting gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria.
Special Precautions
- If signs of vestibular dysfunction or hearing loss are noticed, re-evaluate treatment options.
- Safe use in dogs with tympanic membrane (eardrum) perforation has not been tested. Tympanic membrane integrity should be verified prior to administration of Osurnia.
- Not for oral use.
- Do not allow contact with eyes.
- If Osurnia makes contact with skin, wash thoroughly with water.
- Seek the advice of a physician if accidentally ingested by humans.
- Keep away from children.
- Not safe for human use.
- Do not administer to dogs with known hypersensitivity to corticosteroids, terbinafine, or florfenicol.
