Q: Can this product be used over previous solid stain that is sound and not flaking?

- A: Hi there, thanks for your question. This is a penetrating wood sealer meant to be used as a standalone product. It is designed to be applied to bare wood to allow the penetration. Paint or other coatings will block the product from working.10 months ago
Q: Does this product need to be thinned to use with a sprayer? If so what to thin with and what is the ration of thinner to stain? I want to use an electric sprayer to apply to my fence.

- A: Hi there, Olympic Maximum Solid Stain can be used with a pump sprayer. We do not recommend thinning. When spraying, always back brush for best results. To help avoid lap marks, apply to only a few boards at a time, and maintain a wet edge. If we can help with anything else for your project, please do not hesitate to contact us directly at techservicerequests@ppg.com or 1-800-441-9695.11 months ago
Q: I just stained my deck with Olympic Maximum stain and sealant. I want to make sure it is the most durable it can be since my deck sees a lot of traffic. Is there a clear coat I can put over it that will make it last longer. Like polyurethane or varnish.
