We bought two gallons for our deck and although it was an easy application and the coverage was great, the colour wasn't even close to what we picked. Instead of Sandstone, it looked white. We thought maybe it was the lighting and decided to pick a darker shade-Eiffle Tower- and bought more paint to go over the "Sandstone". Although it wasn't white anymore-it was many shades lighter than we expected. It's a light Grey. Nothing like the colour samples. It doesn't match any of the colours of our house but I am not painting for a third time. Unfortunately, I can't upload pictures as other reviewers have been able to do.

I have been using Olympic stains for many years. I usually buy the Maximum solid stain. The coverage is great, but I do have to do the deck again after a couple years. I am aware of this and still continue to use it. I assume since the deck has been stained so many times, it's almost like a paint at this point. No worries. Still love it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Olympic makes great products and I've been staining my current fence with them for over 20 years. Compared to semi-transparent, this product is much more paint-like. It will cover "ugly" but clean wood with a great cedar appearance. However, it covers so well it that the wood appears to be painted rather than stained. This is great for covering ugly or weathered wood and giving it a consistent cedar finish. The clean-up with this is super easy - just soap and water. I got some on the sliding door handle and it cleaned right off with glass cleaner and microfiber. Highly recommend this product if you are looking for a solid cedar stain.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Olmpic MAXIMUM stain + Sealant is great. I built my kids a bunkbed and used this stain and seant and this cedar color is great. You can use as many coats as you want it just makes it a bit darker each time.
