Dairy Cattle: Feed the following milking feed guide to appetite. For cows producing 20 lb of milk per day, feed 3 lb/head/day with good silage or 5 lb/head/day with quality hay or poor hay. For 25 lb of milk, feed 6 lb with good silage or 7 lb with hay. For 30 lb of milk, feed 8 lb with silage or 10 lb with hay. For 35 lb of milk, feed 11 lb with silage or 14 lb with hay. For 40 lb of milk, feed 13 lb with silage or 16 lb with hay. For 45 lb of milk, feed 15 lb with silage or 18 lb with hay. For 50 lb of milk, feed 17 lb with silage or 20 lb with hay. For 55 lb of milk, feed 20 lb with silage or 23 lb with hay. For 60 lb of milk, feed 24 lb with silage or 27 lb with hay. For 65 lb of milk, feed 26 lb with silage or 30 lb with hay.
