Q: Will the weed seeds germinate?
9 days ago1 Answer
- AI-generatedA: No, this pine straw will not sprout crop weeds. While it is a natural product that may contain some forest debris like weed seeds or sticks, it is often preferred over grain straw because those seeds do not germinate into crop weeds.8 days agoHelpful?
Q: Does it have any unwanted seeds?
a month ago1 Answer
- A: Howdy neighbor! While the National Plant Network Long Leaf Pine Straw Bale is a natural product raked directly from the forest floor, it can unfortunately contain unwanted weed seeds, sticks, and green nettles. Many gardeners still prefer it over grain straw because it will not sprout crop weeds, but you should expect to manually pick out some forest debris when spreading it.a month agoHelpful?
Q: Why does it say 1 cubic yard when a 3 inch thick coverage of 5 square feet is closer to 1 cubic FOOT?
6 months ago1 Answer
- A: Actual coverage is 1 bale, typically covering 35 to 50 square feet at a depth of 2 inches to 3 inches. Bale Dimensions are approximately 32" x 20" x 20" (roughly 7.4 cubic feet when fully expanded/fluffed). Conversion is that 3 bales are generally considered equivalent to 1 cubic yard of wood mulch in terms of area coverage, as pine straw is spread much more loftily than dense wood chips.6 months agoHelpful?

Volume size misrepresented
Nothing wrong with the product itself, I just expected the bail to be much bigger since the product description said the volume was 1 cubic yard. It’s more about 1x1x2 feet.

Product Never Arrives
Terrible. Ordered this online via TractorSupply.com and it stated it would be shipped to the store for pickup in about 7 days. A UPS label got created but it never got picked up. We called Tractor Supply and waited over an hour to speak to someone. They redid the order but same thing is happening. UPS label gets created, but the product isn't getting picked up to be delivered to the store. Have no idea where the disconnect is. Meanwhile, all the weeding and preperation I did is out the door because its been weeks dealing with this and now the weeds are all coming up. Very disappointing!!!!
No, I do not recommend this product.

Wrong straw

I didn’t receive the pine straw. The employee loaded blond/yellow hay/grass straw. Wrong type.
