- A: Yes, ColorStay by Scotts Brown Mulch is specifically formulated for use around ornamentals flowers and bulbs shrubs and trees. Plant first then mulch. Do not pile mulch around base of tree as this holds moisture against the tree which can damage the bark and promote some diseases and or tree damaging insects.
