MIBRO High-Speed Steel (HSS) Silver & Deming Drill Bits are designed for creating large-diameter holes in materials that require more cutting capacity than standard drill bits can provide. Ideal for general-purpose drilling in wood, plastics, and most ferrous and nonferrous metals - including mild steel, cast iron, sheet metal, aluminum, copper, and brass - these bits deliver dependable performance for workshop and fabrication projects. Their reduced shank allows larger diameter bits to fit into drill chucks with a 3/8 in. (9.5 mm) capacity, making them a practical solution for drilling oversized holes. The 135° split-point tip helps reduce walking and eliminates the need for a center punch on many applications for faster, more accurate starts. Three flats on the shank provide a secure grip in the drill chuck to help reduce slipping during use. For best results, use these drill bits in a drill press at speeds up to 400 RPM. Not recommended for drilling high-grade or stainless steel.

Q&As

1 - 1 of 1 Question

Q: Is this bit good for drilling steel and cast iron, etc. hard metals?

1 Answer
  • A: Yes – it can be used for drilling in steel and cast iron but not very hard metals like stainless steel. The trick is to drill slowly, if possible, use a lubricant to keep the drill bit cool. Kind Regards MIBRO Customer Service and Sales Support

Junk

Wouldn't cut, AT ALL! Had to Sharpen the junk before I could use it. Already had 5/8 holes and just needed to open them up to 11/16 and it wouldn't work. The trailing edge was higher than the cutting edge. Mibro is junk!!

No, I do not recommend this product.
