Our fast cutting structured tooth tungsten carbide carving bits are designed for greater material removal and effective cutting with minimum load. The versatile 1/4 Inch (6.4mm) diameter carving bit is made of tungsten carbide and is ideal for removing material from fiberglass, wood, brass, cast iron, plastic, epoxy, rubber, laminates, particleboard, and ceramic tile. For use with all Dremel high-speed rotary tools, the accessories work well for detailed material removal in applications like shaping, carving, engraving, hollowing, grooving, slotting, inlaying, making tapered holes, or freehand routing. The small tapered shape of the carving bit cuts in narrow and hard to reach places. Also makes flat or tapered side cuts while the tip makes V-bottom slots and grooves.

  • Use on fiberglass, wood, plastic, epoxy, rubber, laminates, particleboard and ceramic tile
  • Teeth made of tungsten carbide, the hardest material next to diamonds
  • Sharp teeth on Irwin cutter for greater material removal
  • Fast-cutting

Good at low speeds

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 9931 Structured Tungsten Carbide Carving Bit (Taper) - Tungsten Carbide Carving Bit (Taper) worked well to remove the epoxy. You definitely have to run this at a lower speed when removing the epoxy. This also worked well when I had to make minor changes to the wood tools used for the golf tools.

Great for carving wood

I make wooden flags and carved each star by hand. This has by far been the best bit for doing this

Yes, I recommend this product.

Fantastic for Roughing Surfaces

We use these bits heavily in the aerospace industry on composites, rubber, and just about anything else to rough out material to shape or to rough up a bonding surface up to achieve better adhesion. One aspect in its design that makes this bit better than most, is its ability to to cut carbon fiber composites to shape in corners or radii without bit grab, which is a massive savings in product damage that was frequent before we began using this bit.

Yes, I recommend this product.

It worked, but...

I had some particle board that needed to be cut. I purchased this bit because it specifically said it was made for particle board and similar materials. I began using it and it did cut the particle board, but the tip of the bit burned and it looks as though the teeth are ground down so I don't think it'll be of much use on another project. It did what it was supposed to, but I expect that when I buy a tool it's not going to "disposable" and only suitable for one use.
