The Maxx Air 18 in. Heavy-Duty Exhaust Fan with Integrated Automatic Shutter can be used in a garage, barn, greenhouse, warehouse and a variety of other agricultural and industrial locations to quickly remove unwanted odors, dust and humidity and refresh stale or warm air in your space. This ventilation fan is constructed of a sturdy 20 gauge steel housing with aluminum louvered shutter, a safety grille and a totally enclosed, thermally protected motor. Arrives fully assembled; just mount to your desired building wall and wire into your electrical system to complete installation. You'll also appreciate that this exhaust fan comes backed by a 1-year limited warranty for peace of mind.

- A: Hi Roger. The IF18 cannot be used with any kind of speed control device. We do not manufacture a switch specifically for this model. Many people use these in conjunction with our cooling thermostat, the XXFIRESTAT. However, any single speed switch will work with this unit as long as it is rated for 120 Volts.7 years agoHelpful?

- A: Thank you for asking. The Heavy Duty Exhaust Fans are manufactured to handle humidity. However they cannot handle direct moisture, such as rain. As long as the motor is not in direct contact with rain or water from a hose, it will function perfectly fine. Q: I have a 30X50 barn with rabbits inside. I need an exhaust fan that will provide good air exchange for adequate ventilation to prevent ammonia build up, and decrease humidity. Will this fan be adequate?

- A: Thank you for asking. The 18 inch heavy duty exhaust fan will work in a barn environment. This fan requires 6.5 square feet on NFA (net free air) to pull from to function properly. As long as you have the required NFA, this will function just fine in a barn environment. However, as your barn is on the smaller size, we would recommend going one size lower. The 14 inch exhaust fan will provide you with 1400 cubic feet of air changes per minute and requires only 4 square feet of NFA. Great ventilation, don’t seal completely

Ventilation is great, but... the louvres don’t close completely. If you were trying to heat the same space they would leak. Noise is minimal for a work building, air flow great. 4 stars only because the louvres don’t close completely. Easy install.

Don't buy!!!

After putting the fan per instructions the fan itself came disconnected from the frame within a week. Bending the ventilators, tearing the motor and making quiet a mess. My mechanic son tired to put it to right but couldn't and I didn't save the box to take back to Tractor Supply. A total waste of money!
