Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to Install This fan installed quickly to replace an old fan that wasn't worth repairing. I like the shutters to help keep drafts out in the winter. The wire was oriented the wrong way for my existing set up, but I was able to remove the screws from the housing, rotate the fan, and reinstall the screws to get the wire in the correct location.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 18 inch shutter fan I purchased two of these for a home paint booth, they were an upgrade to the ones I had and work very well. The construction seemed pretty solid for only a few hundred bucks. Have only had them a month or so but so far no issues. Only cons so far are the shutters are very basic and flimsy, when off and shut their are many gaps to allow bugs and critters in but not a deal breaker, also wish it came with a cutout template since you have to cut out the round circle for the inner and a square for the outter wall can be tricky. Also right off the bat I paid for the two year warranty so if I have any issues just take it back get another. Hope this helps take care

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works better than expected!! I recently built a 30' x 48' metal building and put the epoxy on the floor which caused a serious moisture issue. I purchased the IF18 fan and installed it in the gable on my building. I turned it on at 7pm and by 7am the interior of the shop was completely dry! My floors looked like someone sprayed them with a water hose and this fan completely removed all the moisture within 12 hours, I would highly recommend this fan to anyone. The product was assembled very well, runs quiet and performs flawlessly. I'm going to add the Duostat that Ventamatic offers to accent the fan as I live in Jacksonville Florida where both temperature and humidity can be a challenge.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Quiet fan This fan is doing just what it's supposed to. Make some noise but at least you can talk normally around it. It is a good value for moving some air in the barn.

Is the fan system waterproof?

Asked by: Larry929
Thank you for asking. The Heavy Duty Exhaust Fans are manufactured to handle humidity. However they cannot handle direct moisture, such as rain. As long as the motor is not in direct contact with rain or water from a hose, it will function perfectly fine. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to call Customer Support at (800) 433-1626.

I have a 30X50 barn with rabbits inside. I need an exhaust fan that will provide good air exchange for adequate ventilation to prevent ammonia build up, and decrease humidity. Will this fan be adequate?

Asked by: Palamino01
Thank you for asking. The 18 inch heavy duty exhaust fan will work in a barn environment. This fan requires 6.5 square feet on NFA (net free air) to pull from to function properly. As long as you have the required NFA, this will function just fine in a barn environment. However, as your barn is on the smaller size, we would recommend going one size lower. The 14 inch exhaust fan will provide you with 1400 cubic feet of air changes per minute and requires only 4 square feet of NFA. If you have any questions about sizing you exhaust fan, feel free to call Customer Support at (800) 433-1626.
