Chicken Ball Fun

I have two indoor chickens that absolutely love this toy. I fill it with cracked corn and dried mealworms. Keeps the girls busy while I am at work and makes a nice way to add variety to their diet.

Good idea, taught bad habit.

I bought a couple of these, loved the idea of a "toy" for my girls. I put their favorite mealworms in and in no time they went to town. They loved it so much that within a couple days they applied the same idea to other objects- mainly their eggs. I went from Zero issue with egg eating to hens that were in a frenzy to peck open an egg as soon as it hit the floor. I saw my girls huddle around a laying sister to instantly break open the egg as she layed it. Toys went in the trash. It has taken months of close monitoring to get over the issue of pecking things to get treats out.
