Q: Lowest temp it can withstand? Is the battery going to last a long time in MN winter?
7 months ago1 Answer
- A: Hello, thank you for your question. The manufacturer does not provide a specific minimum temperature. While the door is designed for cold-weather use, AA batteries can drain faster in very cold conditions, and extreme cold or ice may affect operation. For more reliable winter performance, you can use high-quality batteries or the optional power adapter, and install the door in a more protected area. Battery-only operation in freezing temperatures may not be fully reliable.7 months agoHelpful?

doesn't always open automatically
At first it worked fine, after 1.5 months it doesn't always open at the time set. We have it set to T-T or time open and time close. 6am for open, however it goes through spurts of not opening. We have to go into the run ans hitnthe ok button and instantly it opens. So on vacation we had to ask a neighbor to come by at 7am everyday to check if it opened.
Batteries are at 87% (if you believe the panel). Very poor product.

This worked great for about 2 months. Now it only works when I walk to the coop, and push the button to manually open or close it. I have it set on the Timer mode.
Looking for another brand.

This door was ok for awhile. I think I paid under $50 for it though. I wouldn't pay what they are asking now. Guess I'll try something else this round
