My girl doesn't go out to far. She is a t8 pound bernedoodle and is very strong, so it isn't like it is to big for her. I think it is because of the drag. I like it because I don't have a line laying in the yard.

Long-time user with larger dog

I like these (used the <80# and >80# versions). Instead of staking to ground, I suspend it from a pulley on a cable and use it as a run for my lab. Pass a bolt thru axis and attach with aluminum straps to pulley. I read the other reviews re safety and durability. My take: raising it above the height of the dog removes potential for wrapping around legs, and careful placement reduces risk of wrapping on obstacles (kennel, dog house, landscaping). Re durability: I have to replace the retractable cable ~1x/yr, mainly because it fails to retract, but it is always out in the weather. So room for improvement there, but I’ve looked for other brands and haven’t found any.
