- A: No, you cannot -- and I was disappointed. I created a workaround by putting a heavy duty clip on the cable that prevented it from retracting. The tie itself is really nice and I'm not trying to disparage it but a way to "lock" it so little dogs can have more fun might have been nice.5 years agoHelpful?
Q: Is there a warranty procedure? Bought 4 weeks ago, and cable rusted and snapped off!!!

- A: there is a one year warranty from purchase date with receipt on the retractable cable. Just contact the manufacturer Lixit Corporation. Warranty covers just the retracting mechanism.7 years agoHelpful?

My girl doesn't go out to far. She is a t8 pound bernedoodle and is very strong, so it isn't like it is to big for her. I think it is because of the drag. I like it because I don't have a line laying in the yard.

Long-time user with larger dog

I like these (used the <80# and >80# versions). Instead of staking to ground, I suspend it from a pulley on a cable and use it as a run for my lab. Pass a bolt thru axis and attach with aluminum straps to pulley. I read the other reviews re safety and durability. My take: raising it above the height of the dog removes potential for wrapping around legs, and careful placement reduces risk of wrapping on obstacles (kennel, dog house, landscaping). Re durability: I have to replace the retractable cable ~1x/yr, mainly because it fails to retract, but it is always out in the weather. So room for improvement there, but I’ve looked for other brands and haven’t found any.
Yes, I recommend this product.
