- A: Slide the cover off the back and insert the two AA batteries. You’ll need to do it about every 3 weeks as it burns through batteries quickly. Wrote the company but no answer as to why.5 years agoHelpful?

Best Digital Rain Gauge - La Crosse

We have had other brands of digital rain gauges and like the La Crosse Model 724-1409 the best. We were also very happy the Tractor Supply had this unit in stock for same day pickup! With a 300' range it can be placed almost anywhere in your house. The self emptying outdoor unit works great.

Did Not Work For Me

Probably a very nice product. I just had no way to attach the rain capture piece to a stone wall. Did not want to drill holes into my wall cap. It would be nice if it had a thin wire hangar to hang on a shepherds hook.
