Best kit for Kohler 7000 engines. Large air filter

This is the PRO kit for Kohler 7000 engines. All parts fit the 7000 engine, but if your engine came with the smaller (not pro) air filter, then you will need to purchase the larger cover for ~$15 (part # 32-096-22-S). Well worth it in my eyes.
The smaller air filter is #32-083-09. You can replace with the larger air filter in this kit (#16-083-04) if you buy part # 32-096-22-S. This allows you to use the better maintenance kit, #16-789-02-S. Otherwise, buy the kit #32-789-02-S which comes with smaller air filter, smaller fuel filter, smaller oil filter, and standard oil.

I thought I ordered the correct kit for my engine but the air filter was definitely a lot larger and wouldn’t allow the air filter cover to be put back on. I ended up only replacing the foam part of the air filter that wraps around the filter itself. The fuel filter was also much larger than the original that I was replacing. Other than that, the oil, oil filter, and spark plugs were fine.

Great maintenance kit, but the air filter is a larger one than stock on the Kohler 7000 series. If your motor has an air filter cover, there is a good chance this one does not fit. Oil filter fit perfect, fuel filter fit perfect, and came with just enough oil. Definitely recommend, but be cautious, you may have to run your motor without the air filter cover.
