Leaking carafe

Coffee machine works good. It’s nice the alarm is not as loud as other machines. Two delay timers are very nice for weekday and weekends. However the carafe design is flawed. At times coffee seeps under the plastic neck. Then when u put it back on the heater coffee leaks down the carafe.

Useful Features Work Well

Machine works very well with several useful design features. Medallion Silver would be a much better finish than the matte grey, which is raw plastic. A quick guide came with but not the user guide that must be downloaded.

A very good machine with small annoyances

A good, but not great, coffee maker. It makes a decent cup of coffee, but coffee would be better if the water was just a touch hotter during brewing. Filling the reservoir at the sink is a great idea, but since I'm always going to be rinsing the carafe, it's simpler to just fill it and pour the water into the reservoir anyway. Space is tight on our countertop, so I have the machine facing outward, to save a few inches, but by having the controls on the side, they are hidden. Finally, when you raise the lid condensation rolls off it and frequently goes down the side of the machine, rather than into the basket. I don't dislike this coffee maker, despite my grumbles. The carafe pours perfectly, rare in my experience, and the brew cycle is quick. The acid test is going to be how long the machine lasts. My last three coffee makers, all "better" brands, each quit after 2-2.5 years. I'm looking forward to the Kitchen Aid doing significantly better.
