The steel is strong and won’t bend or break, and it’s also not too long and cumbersome. While it’s too short for boiling crawfish, it is the perfect length for large portions of jambalaya or similar things.

It is made of a very sturdy metal, a heavy stainless steel that is designed to stir large quantities of food and you can tell. I put it next to my everyday spatula and it was enormous in comparison. I have never seen such a large cooking utensil. I think it is bigger than the one I use with my charcoal grill. I can see this being really helpful when I smoke brisket because it can pick up the entire chunk of meat. It feels durable, like it can last a lifetime.
