Great Device

Installation was simple! The setup and functionality was very intuitive. All materials were as described in the details. Alerts (tested) sound as you would expect.

very hard to change battery

garbage so hard to changed the battery you have take the hardwired plug out to open the battery cover those hardwired plugs don’t come out easy don’t buy these

Easy installation

Replaced two units that had reached the end of the line . Using the required necessary adapter to connect to the original hardwire connection took about 2 minutes to remove the old unit, plug in the adapter to the device and the wiring , activating the included AA batteries and attaching the device to the ceiling mount. They functioned immediately and no problems with false alarms

Yes, I recommend this product.

Garbage

Just had a remodel completed and these models were installed. False alarms in the middle of the night and randomly during the day. Replacing all of them because they are GARBAGE.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Thanks for your message and for reaching out to Kidde. Nuisance alarms can occur for different reasons which include common things like —cooking, aerosols, steam, or dust entering the sensor. Here are some tips to help solve this… you can use the Hush feature if safe to do so (i.e., confirming there is no actual fire), clean the alarm thoroughly with compressed air into sensor openings, and ensure it’s placed away from kitchens and bathrooms, as well as HVAC vents and fans. If the behavior continues after cleaning and relocating, please contact 1-800-880-6788 for additional support or replacement options.
