Kenalog Kenalog-10 Injectable Suspension can be prescribed to horses, cats and dogs. The active ingredient is triamcinolone, a corticosteroid known to reduce swelling, for treating pain, immune suppression, allergic disorders and inflammatory conditions. Kenalog-10 comes in a 5 mL multiple-dose vial.How it Works

Triamcinolone is a corticosteroid that reduces swelling. It is used to treat many different conditions, including inflammation, and allergic and immune disorders.

Special Precautions

  • Do not stop administering Triamcinolone suddenly. When stopping this medication, you should gradually reduce dosage rather than stopping abruptly.
  • To avoid stomach upset, administer with a meal.
  • Closely follow your veterinarian's direction for administration.
Overdose Information

Immediately contact your closest emergency animal hospital or vet.

Side Effects

Potential side effects include:
  • Cushing's system (with prolonged use)
  • Decreased immune system (with prolonged use)
  • Diabetes
  • Increased urination
  • Increased water intake
  • Sudden weight gain
  • Increased blood pressure
  • Allergic reaction, including hives, labored breathing, and more
