KBS XTC Xtreme Temperature Coating in Flame Blue is a high heat paint built for metal that runs hot, rated for continuous service up to 1200 F once heat cured. It goes on exhaust manifolds, headers, mufflers, tractor exhaust stacks, wood stove and furnace exteriors, grill and smoker exteriors, and engine parts, and it will not peel, blister, or discolor when the heat comes on. With proper prep it gives excellent corrosion and weather resistance, and zinc rich XTC Primer under it on bare steel adds even more rust protection. Flame Blue is a bright blue for engine parts and custom exhaust work. Shake well and spray two thin coats about 1 to 2 mils each, wait at least 8 hours, then heat cure at about 350 F for 20 to 30 minutes to bring the resins to full hardness. One 12 oz aerosol covers about 10 to 15 sq ft. Made in the USA.The surface must be clean, dry, and free of rust, oil, and old paint. Sandblasting is ideal; wire brushing or sanding with 60 to 80 grit also works. Then wash with KBS Klean diluted 10 to 1, rinse, and dry. Bare steel benefits from a coat of XTC Primer. Shake the can vigorously for one minute after the mixing ball rattles, and often while spraying. Spray when the can and the room are between 60 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Apply two thin coats about 1 to 2 mils each, 1 to 2 hours apart, since heavy coats cause problems. Let the final coat dry at least 8 hours, then heat cure at about 350 F for 20 to 30 minutes in an oven or by reinstalling the part and running the engine or equipment, avoiding excessive heat during that first heat up and keeping the area ventilated.
