We purchased two fence panels, poles, and a gate in order to partition off a portion of our back yard to keep our cats contained when we let them out. The product is what I expected it to be after viewing it on the web site, although when looking at photos I wasn't clear on how the fencing attaches to the poles or how we would attach the gate. Fortunately I had professional help (Folsom Fixallogist), as this is not a project that I could have managed without screwing it up horribly. The fencing attaches easily to the gate with the supplied hardware. There are pre-drilled holes in the posts for that. For the length of fencing we needed, my project guy did have to cut one of the fence panels, but that was easy work for him using a portable grinder. We ended up attaching one end of the fencing to the stucco in the house rather than using a fence post there. For the gate, my handyman had to use self-tapping screws to install the hardware, as there are not pre-drilled holes for that. His experience showed me how to properly cement the fence posts in so that they were not only square with the house and the gate, but also with the exact distance needed between them so that the gate would fit perfectly once the hardware (latch on one side and hinges on the other) was installed. Everything went together perfectly, but again this was because of his experience.

The gates are beautiful. However, the size is nowhere near 4ft, which caused is a lot of problems for us trying to put something together with at least 5.5 inches missing on each gate, even with the hardware (we purchased 2) and make up the over 10 inches in difference to close the gap. It was terrible going back and forth to the store to buy 4x4s and 2x4s and nails to close the gap, which also narrowed the gate. If we hadn't taken the old gate down and needed something in place right away, I would have returned this gate yesterday. But the next size up would have been too big. Just disappointing. Anyway, beware of the size difference: it is not a 4 ft wide gate.
