Q: Can these rods be used for a solid repair for holes and cracks on the floor of a aluminum flat bottom jon boat? Will it eventually pop off?
a month ago1 Answer
- AI-generatedA: Yes, these rods are specifically designed for use on aluminum boats and can be used to repair small cracks and holes. One reviewer successfully used them to repair a boat gunnel, noting that the material flows well and has enough body to bridge small cracks.a month agoHelpful?
Q: Will these work on a transmission housing
4 months ago1 Answer
- A: Hello, thank you for your question. These aluminum rods are self-fluxing brazing filler rods for aluminum and magnesium. They can be used to braze small repairs on aluminum parts, but they’re not the same as a structural welding rod. For heavy or load-bearing areas like a transmission housing, a proper aluminum welding filler is usually a better choice4 months agoHelpful?
Q: What is the teinsel strength
a year ago1 Answer
- A: Hello, thank you for your question. Per the vendor, "There is no defined tensile strength for this product. It is designed to join any 2 metals that have Zinc or Aluminum as the base metal. Because of this, there are 100’s of combinations that would change the tensile strength based on the 2 base metals."10 months agoHelpful?

a year ago1 Answer
- A: Yes, per the vendor, these are welding rods or welding electrodes.a year agoHelpful?
Q: Can this be used with an electric stick welder
2 years ago1 Answer
- A: If you are able to achieve the 700 degree melting point temperature on the material to be brazed then yes you can use a propane torch. If your torch will not produce enough BTU's to get to the 700 degree pint then it will not work.2 years agoHelpful?

It's aluminum, just saying.

First off let me say only the man above rates a 5. With patience these rods will get the job done. Before you run set the correct heat. Probably should run some test runs to be sure.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Didn't work well on alumimum casting.
A bit sub-optimum on cast aluminum.
The casting started bleeding alloying metals before the rods would melt and flow.
Probably works well on billet or extrusions.
Yes, I recommend this product.
