Q: 1. should i get small for chicks? these will grow to standard size. 2. Is there a problem with the red bands and getting pecked at? i have read this is an issue. I do not understand why red would be sold if there was a problem with blood association.

- A: We recommend sanding the outside of the band with some sandpaper to help retain the ink. And as an extra step, you can apply clear nail polish to help protect the writing as well.7 years agoHelpful?

- A: After looking into that type of bird, it is generally recommended to use a band size that is physically 1/4". With that being said, the best size to use would be either the small EZ leg band or use the colored zip leg bands since they are adjustable to any size bird.8 years agoHelpful?

- A: Please note this guide is an approximation based on hens; roosters may require a larger size. EZ Leg Bands are not permanent and must be removed should they become too tight on growing birds. Suggested breeds for Small EZ Leg Bands: Bantam Cochin, Pheasant, Pigeon. Suggested breeds for Medium EZ Leg Bands: Ancona, Araucana, Barred Rock, Faverolle, Faoumi, Hamburg, Lakenvelder, Leghorn, Mille Fleur, Polish, Silkie.
