Q: I purchased these last summer. The bands held up well however I was unable to find a way to write on them that didn't vanish within a week. Any thoughts on a better way to mark them?

1 Answer
  • A: The manufacturer has advised that the best way to maintain writing on the bands is to first file it with sand paper that isn't too coarse and then write with sharpie. For extended protection after the sharpie dries you can add and application of clear nail polish on top. Once it is completely dry then place on the bird.

Q: Hi, will the poultry legbands fit muscovy ducks? How about large geese? Thanks

1 Answer
  • A: Because the leg bands were designed with chickens in mind, it is difficult to say for sure whether they fit certain ducks and geese. The best way to determine if these will fit is to measure the circumference of their legs. The large EZ Leg Bands have a diameter of approximately 5/8 of an inch at the narrower end and 6/8 of an inch at the longer end. They have an inside circumference of 2.25 inches.

Q: Are the colors equal in number in each package or are they random quantities ? I use color (genetic line) as well as number (hatch) for identification.

1 Answer
  • A: There are an equal number of colors in the EZ leg bands.

These are great!

As described. Affordable, reusable, well made. They fit perfect and close tightly with no edges or anything for them to get hurt on. Sizes are based on hens, so a rooster would need a larger size.
