This walk-behind spreader is perfect for controlled spreading around driveways, paths and gardens over areas as big as 20 sq. ft. The spreader is built on 8 in. pneumatic tires, allowing it to roll smoothly over grass, and the controls are mounted right on the handle for easy access as you push the spreader. The hopper can hold up to 50 lb. of material at once to reduce the amount of refills needed. Made with durable metal components and a powder-coat finish, this broadcast spreader is made to last season after season. Once you order your new broadcast spreader, you can start using it almost right away because it arrives fully assembled.

Garbage Spreader

Broke after only the second use, don't waste your money on it. Even during normal use, you have to constantly shake it for material to come out.

Poor design

the instructions for spreading quantity are terrible. instead of saying set the dial to X lbs. per Y feet, it tells you to test it yourself for each product, and then figure the setting. also, the bin, when the product gets low, the product doesn't flow to the output holes/location. i had to constantly "shake" the unit to get the product to fall to the distribution holes. if i could get a refund i would.

Leg Stand Design

Like others I did not realize the leg stand cannot be adjusted. The stand gets in the way and makes spreading over irregular ground very difficult. Cannot recommend this design.

Poor Design and Inconsistent Performance

The overall quality of the GroundWork 50 lb. Broadcast Spreader is poor. The plastic gearbox grinds during operation and already feels like it’s wearing out after minimal use. The small wheels struggle on anything other than perfectly smooth ground, making it difficult to push consistently.
The biggest design flaw is the stand geometry. You have to tip the spreader so far forward while walking that it constantly feels unstable and close to tipping over. Because of the poor balance and inconsistent operation, it does not spread seed or fertilizer evenly or accurately, which ends up wasting product and money.
After one use, I’ll be returning this item and investing in a higher-quality spreader.
