Grizzly T32720-10 in. Variable-Speed Wet Sharpener

I just received my new Grizzly T32720 – 10 inch Variable Speed Wet Grinder and Sharpener, mfg date 04/2026. I am so glad I took a chance on this after all of the negative reviews I read. There was a Styrofoam packing block that protected the motor in shipping and there was no damage anywhere in my T32720. It works Great! Thank You Grizzly for this affordable perfect Wet Grinder and Sharpener! My common sense setup: 1) I noticed that there were labels on both sides of the stone. The outboard side had a blotter under the label. The inboard side had no blotter and the inner diameter of the label was larger than the outer diameter of the little washer used for the flange. So, I used card stock paper (67 lb) to carefully cut out my own blotter which I put between the label and the flange washer. 2) I replaced the flange washers with much larger ones that are 12 mm ID x 42 mm OD x 4.6 mm thick and made of stainless steel that will not rust or corrode. These give the stone much better support laterally. The inner flange washer fit the shaft perfectly, the outer one was on the smaller threaded portion of the shaft, so I centered it carefully before tightening the left hand threaded nut. 3) I shimmed the inner bore of the stone bushing with a piece of copy paper (20 lb), cut carefully so that it covered the full stone bushing ID, but did not overlap on the inner diameter, and so that it extended beyond the stone in both directions. Then I fitted the stone and paper shim onto the shaft and trimmed off the excess length of the paper shim before installing the outer flange washer and nut per the manual. I tightened the left hand threaded nut firmly, about 20 ft-lbs. When I test ran my T32720, it is perfectly true and there is no runout to the left or right and there is no eccentricity radially! There is no slippage at all either! It is great! Other comments: 1) The Quality of this T32720 is awesome for the price! I like the plastic housing because it will never rust or corrode in the wet environment! It is plenty sturdy for its job! The spindle shaft bushings are self-lubricated bronze, with a perfect tight fit and should last forever with the slow speed it runs at. 2) I couldn’t figure out what kind of drive mechanism this T32720 uses from the available reviews and manual. Now that I have my hands on it, I see the motor shaft penetrates thru the strop side of the housing and drives against a rubber tire on the large diameter wheel attached to the spindle shaft hidden behind the strop wheel. I'll include a photo. It is a great design and after applying the right firm torque with the adjustment knob, there is no slippage at all! There is plenty of power in the motor for this slow speed wet grinder and sharpener! I cannot stop the rotation by hand at all, or with grinding an axe either! Great Job Grizzly! 3) My variable speed control works great too and it has ample grinding wheel torque at all of the speeds. 4) The adjustable Tool Rest is very sturdy and it is easy to adjust parallel to the face of the stone while tightening the two Tool Rest Lock Knobs. 5) I found the Tool Jig to be of great quality too! It is a strong clamp and tight fitting. You need to try one of these! I personally recommend it! Be sure to perform the Common Sense Setup above.

Excellent machine right out of the box. Easy to put together. An accurate way to sharpen chisels and plane blades without having to worry about losing any heat treatment.

This is fantastic. The only gripe I have is I purchased the recommended stand for it and the top plate was too small for the grinder. Make bigger plates! I cut a pice of plywood and mounted it to the plate. Then I mounted the grinder to it
