A: Hello RTDeFranco - Thank you for your question! The mulch plug does not need to be installed to put the bagger on. The mulch plate brackets should be installed to install the bagger. Please note, the mulch plate is what comes with the lawnmower itself. The mower is set up to side discharge when the it arrives.
