Q: how to back down a ramp

1 Answer
  • Greenworks Tools
A: Hello Doug, This mower can handle moderate slopes, but extra caution should always be used when operating on ramps or inclines. When backing down a ramp, we recommend moving slowly, keeping both control arms steady, and avoiding sudden turns or quick speed changes. Gradual movements will help maintain traction and control. For safety, the mower is rated for slopes up to 15° maximum, and operation across slopes is generally safer than directly up or down them. If you are loading or unloading from a trailer, make sure the ramp is secure, dry, and capable of supporting the mower’s weight before attempting to drive on it. Wet grass, loose gravel, or slick ramp surfaces can reduce traction significantly. If you have any questions about safe operation or setup, please contact Greenworks Support at 1-888-909-6757 or through live chat anytime and we’ll be happy to assist.

Q: Does the warranty transfer to the new owner if it is sold?

2 Answers
  • Greenworks Tools
A: Hi Lucas, That’s a great question. Greenworks warranties are provided to the original purchaser and are tied to the original proof of purchase from Greenworks or an authorized retailer such as Tractor Supply, Lowe’s, Costco, Menards, and others. Because of this, the warranty coverage does not transfer if the mower is sold or purchased secondhand. If you have any other questions about warranty coverage, registration, or service options, our Greenworks Customer Support team is happy to help at 1-888-909-6757 or through Live Chat.

Easy set up, impressive machine

Just got ours, pretty impressed and have a few comments. This comes freight in a box in a large metal frame that I imagine costs a few hundred dollars. Most of the work setting it up is taking the frame apart to get to the mower. Got a nice collection of good nuts and boltsfrom it, the large frame pieces took to recycling. Other than the seat and steering handles, there is nothing to assemble, it's very easy. Getting it off the shipping frame: I drove it off, set up some two x fours in the front so it would ride over the lip of the bottom of the shiping frame on them rather than come hard down on the ground, pretty easy, there is no need to lift this 600 lb machine off it. Never had a zero turn mower before, and my instincts were all wrong. Spent an hour getting used to it. Operation, it's very comfortable to ride and compared to our old gas riding mower, super quiet. Mowing the yard in the cool of the early morning without making a racket waking everyone up is doable. On the steering handles, unless you are skinny, you may not be able to pull them all the way backwithout bringing them on your torso, only just enough to reverse slowly. Inclines: a 15 deg incline is a rise of 26 feet in 100feet which is pretty steep, we have some rolling terrain on property but nothing like that, so a non issue for us. Six 60 volt 8 amp hour batteries gives you 2.9 kwhrs. To run an hour total motor hp average draw should not exceed 3.9 hp, well below the 24 hp it's capable of. To maximize run time I elected not to use the high speed settings for the blades and rolling motion. We have 1.5 acres and those settings work for us. Battery recharge time is about an hour. The tractor comes with three chargers which can recharge two batteries at a time. Note you have to plug them into individual 110 voltage outlets otherwise you may pop a circuit breaker. Currently we are just using one charger and that works for us. All in all, highly pleased so far. Checked around for service centers nearest one about 30 miles away, hope I don't have to go there with this heavy machine any time soon. We are so pleased now looking to replace our pull start and pray gas push mower we use for trimming and are shopping for same battery compatible greenworks units.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Good momer for flat property only

I bought this in 2024. If I had flat ground, I would rate 5 stars, but I have rolling property. It is hard to keep it going straight when you are on a 15 degree incline, or any incline. It is fast and effective. It cuts well and except for the problem on inclines, it works great. I wish I had bought the old style with the steering weel for my property. It is relatively quite and the batteries last a long time. It's nice not having to store gas, oil and changing spark plugs and air filters every year. It's comfortable and easy to use. I have not had a problem in tall grass or short.

Hello Texas Woodsmen Thank you for sharing your detailed experience with the CrossoverZ zero turn mower. It is great to hear that you are seeing strong cutting performance, runtime, and overall ease of use. For operation on inclines, zero turn mowers can require a bit of adjustment compared to steering wheel models, especially on slopes around 15 degrees. To help improve tracking and control, we recommend reducing speed and making gradual steering inputs whenever possible. Ensuring tire pressure is equal on both sides can also help maintain a straighter path. For properties with consistent rolling terrain, a steering wheel or lawn tractor-style unit may provide more stability, as you noted. We appreciate you highlighting both the strengths and limitations, as this helps other customers choose the right equipment for their property type. If you ever have specific questions or concerns about our products, contact Greenworks via Live chat on our website, call us at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS) or refer to the FAQ ask section of the tool or ask us a question, anytime.

Great Mower

Wanted a new ridding lawn mower. I researched several and the zero turn was what I decided I wanted. I live in the country so running out of gas is not an option so battery powered was a great option. Have used this zero turn for 3 years now and it has been a great experience. It runs so smoothly and is durable and just as fast as a gas mower.

Greenworks 42 in. 24 hp zero turn

Love this mower, it's quiet, it cuts evenly, it doesn't smell, it's well built and it's power source is renewable. However I wish I studied more as this is a Gen 1 and requires removal of each of 6 heavy batteries to recharge them. I have found that the Gen 2 solved tis hassle by making an onboard charger and a single 110vac plug in to charge them all. Aside from that it is almost a dream mower. Now to buy a bagger...
