Try it == You will like it.

So far so good. The ordering, the delivery and the assembly went very well. Did a test start and it was just one pull and it started right up. Put different size branches up to about 3 inches in diameter and it chewed them right up. I will put it to a good test after the holidays. The only thing I found is it's a little hard to move around the property but I am sure practice will make it easier. Appears to be a greast investmesnt.

Dedication in Ankeny, IA store.

The gentleman at the customer service desk in the store was extremely helpful in getting a gift card to place a online order to ship to store since I was wanting to pay with cash. He helped me get a gift card and helped walk me through a issue using the gift card to place the online order. Thank you dedicated worker in Ankeny, IA. P.S. the chipper works great as well.

Low cost but does a decent job

This is a low priced chipper and should be treated as such. Assemble is straight forward. First use showed some issues that are easy enough to deal with. First a three inch branch will stall the motor and you need to re-start. This happened several times. A work around was to hold back the branch so the chipper did not try to take a big bite. Second issue was a real pain. Engine stalled and would not turn over. Check oil and that was good so I checked the chute. It was clogged solid. I removed the shoot and tried the pull start. Still not turning over. I had to remove the feed chute and the entire front chipper plate. I removed all the chips and dust and then pulled the rope start (with the spark plug disconnected). This did the trick. Put it back together and it started right off. Blew a ton of blue smoke from being turned on it's side. You have to go slow and watch the chute. Let it clear if it looks to be slowing. You must trim the off shoot branches as this little engine can not pull them into the plate. For the money this is a nice unit.

Works as advertised, still needs more packaging

I just used the machine for the first time yesterday. First, putting it together, one of the corners was bent and had to be bent back, using pliers, to get the parts to fit. This is despite the additional packaging that was changed after previous reviews of damage. Not a big deal so far. You need to add oil to the machine, which is NOT included. Pick an oil for your typical weather of when you would be using the machine. It also doesn't say how much oil, which I think in the end was about 3/4 of a quart, but you should probably stop at 1/2 or 2/3 of a quart, to be sure you don't overfill. When using the machine, it takes branches up to 1 inch thick as advertised. Be careful about the branches twisting around inside the intake chute, if you use longer branches. They can whip you if you aren't careful. Best to use 3 foot pieces to be safe. One thing I was surprised is the small amount of wood chips for a large number of branches. This was my first time using a chipper. I dropped the chips into a towable trailer. I bought this model because of the high location of the output chute, able to blow into the trailer. But the chips are the proper size and such, just not as much as I thought. So far no problems with the machine, but with only one use, it's hard to know the future. Remember, that fresh wood chips are not good for the garden directly, they must be aged at least 6 months. They are great to use on areas where you haven't planted yet but wish to plant in the future, after 1 year when the chips have a chance to degrade into premium soil. Or on garden walkways, etc. Good luck all.
