Q: How many bales will this roll make with a 5 foot bale

1 Answer
  • A: To answer this question we need to know how many complete wraps or “revolutions” of netwrap that the end-user will be using to wrap each of their bales. As a rule of thumb: The amount of Netwrap used to wrap a bale one time is approximately 17.7 feet for a 5 ft.’ diameter bale and 20.84 feet for a 6 ft. diameter bale. The above is calculated by the equation C = πd, or Circumference = Pi x diameter. By taking the diameter of the bale (5 ft.) and multiplying that by PI (3.14), and then adding 2 feet to allow for “in-field variables” such as: bale monitors not being exact, over-size bales, overlapping of net, etc. So, (5 x 3.14) + 2 = 17.7 feet for one full wrap or revolution of netwrap on a 5 ft. diameter bale. If the end-user is using 2 full wraps or revolutions per bale, then 2 x 17.7 = 35.4 feet for 2 full wraps or revolutions. Example 1: There are 9,840’ in the roll, so divide 9,840 by the 35.4 feet (for 2 full wraps or revolutions) = 278 bales wrapped per roll. Example 2: There are 9,840’ in the roll, so divide 9,840 by 53.1 feet (for 3 full wraps or revolutions) = 185 bales wrapped per roll. As you can see, the number of bales you can cover with one roll varies greatly with the number of wraps being used for each bale. This net product is not worth your time you will spend more time refeeding your net then you will bailing literally it's about every two bales you have to completely refeed it if you're lucky most the time it's every Bale you have to refeed it you can't have your brake hardly on for your net feeder or it will constantly tear so the ones that you do end up where it doesn't tear through your bales are going to end up super loose because of neck is not tight enough to hold it the way it should be this is the worst product I have ever dealt with I will never buy this again and I am returning this product as soon as possible

No, I do not recommend this product.

Not strong enough, every bale ripped in middle, can't hold the compressed hay together without splitting, going back to other brand, not worth the money
